Interview Questions

So I set a view questions for my interview for my Research and Development subject about Music and Emotions. These questions are for someone who has knowledge about Music Therapy since I talked about music therapy as one of my updates to my lecturers. So my target interviewee would be a music therapist.

1. Why did you take music therapy as your preferred study?
This question is to open up the topic of music therapy for the interviewee and to understand more about the subject's personal reasons to his/her interest in the subject.

2. What is music therapy all about?
This question is more direct, it asks the interviewee about her definition of Music Therapy and what can it do.

3. How can music therapy help people and their emotions?
The objective of this question is to know and understand a little better about how music therapy works for clients/patients/people that are prescribed with it.

4. In what cases are music therapy usually used?
The intention of this question is to understand if there are any specific cases/problems/disease/etc. that music therapist usually picks to be given this treatment.

5. How can music actually affect a person's emotions?
This question, in particular, is pretty general and light yet to the point; to let the interviewee explain the more scientific side of the music therapy based on his/her studies.

6. What kind of music therapies are there and what is it usually used for?
For this question, I wanted the interviewee to explain more on the types and methods of music therapy usually used during therapy sessions.

7. Based on your experience, what kind/type of music would be suitable for music therapy?
To let the interviewee give his/her personal opinion/experience on what type/genre of music that is more typically used during therapy sessions.

TouchDesigner Experiment: Audio Reactive Particle Cloud

My second experiment with TouchDesigner is creating this audio-reactive particle visual by following Bileam Tschepe 's tutorial on Youtube. Again, I just followed his tutorial step by step. This tutorial is a little different because it uses both audio and visuals. The visual follows the music in real-time. Other than audio, we are also introduced with the element 'Math' to add the channels of the audio together. This is the end product. Music is FriendsV2 by Muskatt.

TouchDesigner Experiment: Inserting OSC data with OSCIn

From one of my last experiment , I tried to change the data input. Instead of using audio, I replaced it with OSC data from my Muse headset. To connect your OSC device to TouchDesigner, make sure that the IP address and port number is the same so the data transfer can be accurate. In this case, I use a third-party app called Mind Monitor (available on iOS devices) to connect my Muse headset to the TouchDesigner software. Below are screenshots and videos from my experiment. You can see that the brainwave data is already recorded in real-time in the software. Then I used the alpha, beta, and theta brainwave to change the movement of the visuals (the chosen brainwave data I used are just placeholders for now to see the movement). Then the data is connected with 'noise', which is like the fluid/abstract visuals you see on the background. I also set the colors to be moving/changing over time.

TouchDesigner Experiment: Particle Displacement

My first experiment with TouchDesigner is creating this particle displacement visual by following Bileam Tschepe's tutorial  on Youtube. His tutorial is pretty clear on how to create this project, however, I'm going to show a little on how it goes. This is my result.
